Found a Class 5 to class 3 adapter sleeve for $12 to work as my plate carrier.

Got some .75 freeze plugs today, I think ill weld those in as my tube caps. and we'll be done.

Should have gotten much further this weekend. But motivation was lacking.

I finished last detail on tire rack, used freeze plug to cap the tube ends and welded them in. Still can't decide if I should grind them down or not.

Got tank set back in, Had a scare thinking it wasn't gonna go back in. Had to cut some extra bolt threads hanging out, and some tank lip mods and it finally went. I didn't get it hooked back up yep... need to still.

I understand man, gotten too damn cold to make anything worth doing round here.

I'd knock the slag off with a flapper disc so it doesn't catch your leg or pants when you go by it, but don't go too deep on the weld, you'll start chasing pin holes and errything else.

You know, the cold isn't what bothers me. I have a 155k heater that puts it down.

I just really dislike being up and down on floor under car a bunch...lol

I think If I had a lift id get much more accomplished for that regard alone

cold air does not bother me. its the cold concrete that kills me.

right now that stuff is hovering around 0*F. that kind of cold gets into your bones when laying on the ground.

you can even feel it radiate thru cardboard.

Sold a gun last Monday, which provided my the $ to finally order a radiator for Wagon. Mishismoto is what I ended up buying, one of the only companies I could find offering a lifetime warranty, not sure if that will fly with the mods I made. Hope I never have to find out.

Got it on Friday, had to have a bung tig welded in for steam port. Was hoping for minimal install issues. But as seems to always go with this car, turning into a huge pain. I spent the entire day Saturday getting it install, I was on a mission to drive my car Sunday since it was 65* here.

I knew I was gonna have to hack front portion of mounts off to let fan assembly fit. Biggest issue was hose sizes not being the same. LT1 requires 1.25" hose top and bottom, not common. So I had 1.75 lower and 1.5 upper. I took 3 trips to parts store, and checked all 3 in town attempting not to have to scab together hoses. No Dice. Both upper and lower are pieced together. And im not happy with either one.

Had to redrill holes in both the radiator flange/and fan assembly and the radiator core support for new lower mounting bolts.

Lower is basically right on top of the p/s pump pulley. Had to ziptie it to pull it towards the radiator to not touch.

Upper I thought was gonna be fine, until I went to install the intake... didn't take that into account. Hose needs a tight 90 down to clear intake. I trimmed some off hose to make that happen, but its a bit stretched now. I am continuing my search at work today, I think I found a potential candidate. Ill find out tonight when I get home.

Also transmission fittings were much further apart than Be cool, which required some creative bending to make them clear the balancer. Thank god thread sizes were same.

Anyway, wrapped it up at 9:30 PM. And put about 70 miles on it Sunday. Which was awesome weather to be out.
