Slp Y Pipe Works On 99 Up No Prob
right now have 5000 miles no codes no nothing, but just the sound differnece from going from the stock y pipe and flowmaster muffler to this one is amazing. the sound is sweet. im going to try to get my cousins cam and put up a sound clip here is the slp ypipe ![]() ![]() now look at the stock one some places ITS ONLY 1 1/4 inches wide, compare from the last pic below where the crossover meets the 2.5 pipe to the slp y pipe at the same connection. the only thing i had to drill is the donuts on the y pipe with a 1/2 inch drill bit. if you are going all motor do this with the exhaust, and wait off on headers!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ok all trucks have the 2 02 sensors on the y pipe but there are some that have it right at the end of the y pipe like this pic shows for 97 trucks ![]() you can see a bung where the pipe bolts up to the cat ]if you need this one the part number is 31138 now on 98 that is not there anymore and looks like this ![]() |

I had the JBA headers at one time and I hated them. I have the stock manifolds now But I am trying to get some of the Edlebrockk headers from someone I know. Would the SLP Y pipe be better in your opinion? And just the stock manifolds? Or just get the Edlebrock headers and use that Y pipe ?

the edelbrock setup is junk for flow. never had a problem with them leaking though. the primary inlet is only 1.125 and 1" in areas. primarys are tapered almost flat is spots near the collector. the y pipe near the collector is the same way. just by the looks the slp y is way better than stock and edelbrocks 2 piece y pipe.

I really really hated those JBA's I was burning 2 and 3 wires a week. And that was with the fiberglass gaurds on the wires. I need to get some sort of headers or something but not sure about going back to JBA. But what else is there? Would the JBA headers do better with Jett hott coating? Stay cooler and not burn wires?
