I'm playing with the idea of getting some fender flares that are wider than the .5" OEM black ones GM offered. The wheel bug is biting again and I want to get 9.5 or 10" wide front wheels and 12 or 13" rears.

I would prefer these, but Bushwacker no longer produces these "pocket" fender flares for first gen s-series :/. I've looked online, called around; can't find them. I'm sure there's some out there in a dusty warehouse, but I haven't come across them.

The other, more extreme option from Bushwacker is their "cut out" fender flare (see below). You guys have all seen these on 4X4s, but how would they look on a lowered, pro-touring, road racing themed truck? The negatives with these cut out flares are, well, in the name itself, "cut out". I hate the idea of cutting up my fenders and bed.

I'm not sure the cut out fender flares will give me the look I'm going for. I mean look at how high the flare goes up on the front fender - really close to the body line. Would it look right lowered? Some questions.

1. I'm currently at a 4.5 front and 5.375 rear drop. If I were to go with the cut-out flares, I'd need to go lower I'm assuming, and that sorta worries me being static and all. Am I looking at having to lower it an additional 2" front/rear if I get the flares?

2. Anybody have any rudimentary photoshop skills and want to take a 2 minute stab at lowering one or more of the above pictures to help me visualize the look? I'd appreciate it.

Couple more:

I can't wrap my head around doing irreversible damage to the truck by cutting it up for 4x4 flares.

I had my eye on a set of those smooth ones in the first pic a while back but couldn't justify $300 they wanted just to cut them to fit with the factory cladding on my Bravada. I'm not even sure it would work on my truck. If they were $100 I'd give it a shot. Not a fan of the others.

They are still on Facebook marketplace, located in Narrowsburg N.Y.
Not sure if they are for Blazer or pickup. [edit] says pickup

It maybe a little extreme, but I'm quite smitten with this guys approach to making room for wider tires on his mini truck. Though I think the lack of hood helps detract from the overall fit and finish.

I dig it. I've thought several times about adding ZR2 flares to mine for a wide body effect. Just seems like without actually widening the suspension, it's asking for trouble. Black Widow, I think, mufflers has a 2nd gen with fiberglass pre-runner style fenders that looks ok-ish.
