drove this big bish to florida and back last week. 2800 miles in 7 days. averaged 16mpg overall with it packed to the gills for most of that time. we had 3 adults and 1 kid, then all the over flow of cothes and gear from the other car that had 6 people in it. even came back with an extra set of wheels/tires for the side by side.

Front differential noise is getting louder. need to tear into that next. other than that truck did great.

about 20 min before we were set to leave i had the great idea to update the tune to eek out some extra MPG. well HPtuners had a communication error mid tune update and BAM! bricked the computer. luckily i had a spare and was able to bench tune it and get it in the truck. but just to be safe i stuck the current tune in it.

some small updates.

Coming back from vacation there was one time where the girlfriend was trying to accelerate using the cruise control. well it downshifted from 4th to 2nd and had a definite slip. when it tried to grab second.

So i dropped the pan and fluid was pretty dark for having recently been serviced. I installed a billet pinless 1-2 accumulator piston. the stock piece had some wear on the pin and stress cracks starting on the piston. also installed a corvette servo to try and firm up the band apply in 2nd gear. kicking around the idea of installing a billet 4th gear servo to help the band in 4th as well, but i want to do some more research on that.

last thing i checked was the tune. Since its a denali, the tune is listed as "luxury". comparing that to say a stock 5.3 suburban, shift pressure are down all across the map, presumably to make it shift smoother.

going to make some tune changes and increase the line pressure and see how it does. already shifts night and day different with just the hard part changes.

Sounds like you're getting it dialed in to last a little longer.

Watch that line pressure and the k034 piston.

I spent a solid 5 hours making a bunch of custom tools. Once those were done i had the races and bearings all pressed on amd races in within 20 min.

Hopefully final assembly goes smooth.

But yes they do manage to suck time away from you. Lol

Better than using fan belts, threaded rods, and washing machine parts..
