Back at it

Still plugging away at this JD mower stuff.

Sharpened the last two blades, they came out better than anticipated.

Painted the rest of the parts.

Fixed all the cracks, chipped away the rust & painted the underside. Lawn roller in the back ground, more on that later.

Top side needed love too.

New yellow paint & some black around the pulley area.

Spindles in with blades. Underside got muddy when I was power washing the top side.

Top side view.

And done.

Lawn Rollin'

I was gifted this older lawn roller from my dad. It had a wooden handle, so I suppose one is to push/pull this thing around by hand. Well, work smarter not harder I was once told.

Lost the handle and welded on some angle iron. Used a step bit to make to adjacent holes, then a carbide burr to remove the center to make an oval. Turned out mint. The oval allows this roller to fit on other tractors.

Another one and done.

God I hated the coils in my Audi. It got bad enough there for awhile that I carried a spare around with me for about 6 months. At least they were easy to change!

*edit*

Also.....I think that is the first time I've seen snow chains on a lawn mower.

I had one of them go bad on me. It would start missing over 10psi boost. I had no history on the coils or plugs, they came with the car. I just replaced everything.

I have a snow auger attachment for the front of the tractor. I have to put on chains and wheel weights in order to move anywhere in the winter without getting stuck.
