Thanks. Same here, I miss him all the time. He died in a plane crash Dec 27th. I think because he died so suddenly and unexpected, it makes closure more difficult. If he was sick and slowly dying, it would have maybe been something I could be more at peace with.

I put this sticker on the back window of his truck

Oh wow, 46 is terribly young. I'm so sorry.

Thanks! He died doing what he loved which was flying and in an airplane he loved too. It's a bad situation but I would rather he died doing something he loved than being sick.

Steve, Sorry about your Dad. I read up on what happened. very sad.
I also saw he took a trip around the world in June in that very same plane.
I'm sure he absolutely enjoyed that.

The hardest thing I've done so far as an adult was say goodbye to my parents.
My Mom (60) passed in 2005 (lung cancer) and my Dad (70) passed mothers day 2016.
I was very close to my Dad. I spoke to him daily without fail.
I miss him terribly. Unfortunately he was sick (myelodysplasia) and his passing, while the onset was quick it wasn't totally unexpected. His last 8 weeks were absolute hell for him.

Definitely puts things in perspective and makes you kiss the wife a little longer and hug the kids a little tighter.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents as well. I'm sure the prolonged pain was very hard to watch. Not being able to call them up and talk to them is one of the hardest things I'm sure.

The night of the accident, I was actually getting pictures from the internet. It was a night I'll never forget. The crash was talked about on the news in Florida, Minnesota and Nebraska. My wife's sister and her family from Chicago were at Disney World and she said it was so weird watching it on the local news in Orlando.

He was very proud of that trip around the world. He didn't actually fly his plane, they had a group of new Epic LT's that they flew. The news didn't have their info correct when they reported his plane made the trip.

Hey Steve, welcome back. I definitely remember you as the guy with the cleanest possible truck one could ever have. Sorry to hear about your dad.
I'm still here, and I still have my 96 S10. It's a good bit worse for wear, but this year I have started putting some time into it and hopefully in the very very near future it will once again be my daily driver. It's just about there, I just need to get AC parts swapped out and get it flushed, vacuumed, and filled. Or I just need temps to drop about 10-15.
I too have joined the F150 owners party. I have a 2011 supercab 4x4 with the 5.0 and I absolutely love this truck. It's just soooo comfortable to drive. It's so easy to put 5-600 miles under the tires and still be comfortable at mile 600 as I was at mile 1.
Hoping to upgrade to used 2013 or 2014 crew cab Lariat or higher trim, likely in the next year or so.
