Just a heads up for you guys. I haven't read the entire thread, or know exactly how this works, but I know that Mike Hood from the Sy/Ty world is now making "adjustable" DRAC modules. Works on a core basis, and has DIP switchs that you can adjust soldered to the DRAC itself for adjusting.

Soldering the DIP is the easy part.

welp its time for me to get my speedo right. did a little chatting with boosted thrills about how to get the stock speedo to work without switching out the stock 17tooth reluctor wheel in the trans and we kept comming up with input ratios that were to low for the chart.

if i take my infor and put it into teels calculator i get an input ratio of 0.447739171319557 (235/60/16 tires. 4.56 final drive gear. 17 tooth reluctor wheel)

now obviously the input ratio is below the lowest on the chart and ive been stumped there for a while. i dont want to drop my trans again so ive been doing some thinking.

if i took a stock 110mph cluster from a late modle 1st gen blazer and converted it to an 80 mph cluster the needle would have to move 1.375 times faster then it would on the stock 110 incriments. i would abviouslt have to get a new speed over lay but we will worry about that later.

so if i take my stock input ratio and multiple it by 1.375 that would give me a ratio of .61564136066890875 now if this is correct this will allow me to get my speedo working with out ahving to drop the trans. then once i get ready to upgrade my clutch or have the tranny rebuilt i can install the 40 tooth reluctor wheel and be all set but just messing with new drac input ratios and removing the 80mph overlay.

i would like some input just to make sure my thinking is correct on all this

That's pretty much exactly what I did with my 130 mph speedo. I took my stock 85 mph speedo that had KPH around the inside of the guage, scanned it into photoshop, translated the KPH numbers across to the MPH side, and then divided my tire circumference by the conversion factor for MPH to KPH. As a result my speedo (and consequently, my odo) now run slow. That said, I also has to go into the computer and rescale all of the MPH keyed tables by the same conversions so that as far as the computer is concerned, stuff still happens at the right MPH, even though that number that the computer is seeing is lower than it the truck is actually travelling.
