Panel dye?
I was thinking about pulling the dash out and going over it with a spray dye to match the original interior color, which I believe either called saddle or fawn. Have any of you guys had any experience with using these products? |

Yup, go to a auto paint supplier and get SEM upholstery paint, follow the directions, good stuff.

Thanks, I just looked them up and there is a distributor that will mix custom interior colors that I pass every day on the way to work. Can't get much easier than that. If only pulling the dash would be that easy!

It's definitely not the most fun thing to do for sure.

Be CAREFUL with it.
My '94 never had a crack in it till i pulled it for the 2nd time and put some pressure on the leading edge. Crack from defroster vent opening up to the edge. D'oh! Last edited by chevy42083; 06-24-2017 at 09:28 AM. |

I was hoping that going over it with a top coat of something would preserve it. I know I can pick up a dash cover, but I really don't like the look of them. I can't think of anything else to prolong the life of the dash. |

I am wondering about interior trim dye as well. Unfortunately during the time frame when my truck spent time in my mother's field in PA, the sun took it's toll on the dash. Not only is it faded, but it's also cracked in 2 places now. I think I am going to buy one of the dash caps they sell on ebay. I've talked to other folks who have bought the same brand, but for different vehicles and they say you cant even tell it's a cover.
This is what I am considering. It's a bit pricey, but considering I can't find a tan dash that isn't cracked it may be my only choice. I want to say I found them cheaper once before when I was actively looking, but this was just a quick search for reference here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-S-...19.m1438.l2649
