i would try some adams polishes deep wheel cleaner with a one of their brushes.

Thanks! I picked up a bottle earlier this week. Unfortunately, I think my wheels were a little too neglected, no amount of scrubbing with a wheel brush seemed to really clean these things up, I stepped up to a stiffer deck brush, and ended up using a green scotchbrite on the inner portion to clean them up.

Not bad man, I use NAPA Aluminum wheel brightener (acid), followed by Eagle 1 tire and wheel cleaner. Use the acid only once, don't let it linger too long. If you look up my tahoe thread in member's rides you'll see my wheel cleaning.

I see if I can pick some up, it's probably worth trying before I take some sand paper to it. The front wheels were much worse than the rears. The front discs were very rusty and I am willing to bet all the damage was from bits of rust flinging off while driving.
