Nope, she went back with the cheapest felpro phenolic she could find.

KISS got me.. And on to the misfire.. pulled the plugs, cheap autolite plats, #3 wet with gas. Gaps bad, ceramic a dark brown/almost black. Could have sworn I tuned it up when we got it, but no.. and #3 wire is dead, can't even get a blip twisting/shaking/etc with meter attached.

Got the intake installed, ran paper thin ultra blue around the coolant ports, they were very pitted, ultra grey across the valley lip. New driver's plugs and wires done, have to do pass tomorrow, change the oil, then flush the cooling system. Hopefully that's it.

Seeing all that sludge, tempted to run sea foam or some cleaner through it, but figure that might do more damage than good.

When I pulled the rag out of #1 I notice a bunch of sludge on the intake tract walls. Thinking that's where my split trims were coming from? Pulling oil/vapor from intake valley? Put my scanner on Angus, f'in thing is pulling -7.8 / -10! Wtf?! Oxygenated summer blend??

Anyway, it's back together, cooling system flushed, fresh tune up, oil change (had 1/4 qt of water from intake removal), and degreased engine bay. Runs better than ever before, starts up instantly, was delayed before, and got a thumbs up from the blonde after test drive.

Case closed gentlemen.

Nicely done sir. Congrats!

Want to come help me install a trans cooler and exhaust manifold gaskets tomorrow in the PO-SS? Should be cake compared to the work you did on this thing!

Lol if it wasn't for the drive I'd be there!

I'm kicking myself for not checking the simple things first, but the truck needed some love, so don't feel that I completely wasted time. Just wish I'd scanned the zr2 sooner, idle ltfts seriously had me beside myself along with the washed out rear intake.

She drove a little over an hour to a friend's house last night, wife got a message that it had never ran this good before. Back to the chevelle!
