Maxed out free space on Flickr has really bummed me out for posting. No pics no care lol

Guess ill do a little catch up.

Fresh rearend was installed and has been working fine since late May, had started working through small details car needed. Tuning etc. Had car running/driving/shifting better than it ever had since I've owned it. I wanted to get dome lights working and some relays installed for the rear tailgate glass to get a full 12 volts in hope of making it work better reliably. I out sourced that work, and it turned in to a snowball of apparently my fuse box was not appropriately wired to go to circuit it listed. So he moved the box up right under my gauges under dash and did a significant re-work to make it serviceable as well as correcting lots of bad terminations and making each circuit go to what box was marked.

After missing Street Machine Nats and 1 autocross event. Pushing into a 3 week stint at his house. Car wouldn't run without a jumper wire in box, and efans not functional, speedo not working correctly, trans wouldn't shift or lock converter.

Got it home, and basically has been radio silence from guy to help get it fixed. So I dropped car off June 17th, got it back on July 6th. And its been sitting in garage collecting cobb webs since because it pissed me off that I had a running /driving car and now I don't. So I kicked off home projects and let it sit.

I have some pretty amazing friends in my circle, and one of them came by while I was at work. And we had spent maybe 6 hrs together weeks before that messing with it. We knew we needed an ignition run/hot and hadn't found where that was missing. He found that pink behind my gauges cut and going to nothing. So he connected it back to ignition switch and car is back to going again.

As of last night I put fuse box back together, inner fender back in, wheels back on. And test drove to make sure I had transmission function. all checked out. I had previously went ahead and rewired my efans from scratch. So as of now, my know problems are:: Speedo bangs around about 20mph within range of where speed is at. I need to find the wire off the trans harness to connect to taillight wiring to make backup lights work, now with full 12v to tailgate my halfassed repair on gear gave up the ghost, and unrelated to wiring-driver head gasket is leaking.

I had registered to do AutoFest in Kodiak TN in late Sept to run an autocross event and finally get to meet Adam, and Jeff. I had basically given up on that, but maybe... maybe if I focus. I can get headgaskets done and try to make that happen still.

PS - we just nailed down our hotel. Staying at Fairfield Inn across from the Smokies Stadium. Thursday night to Sunday morning. You need to come out, the trip over to the Dragon's Tail is going to be great!

Funny....I traded the SS because I didn't want to deal with head gasket problems........

With car running again, it quickly developed another issue I'm struggling to figure out.

Car is going HARD lean on decel, but staying lean for excessive time causing at times to actually die. Sometimes it will recover on its own, sometimes you can throttle out of it.

But ive spent several days attempting to diagnose issue with no clear answer. Had 2 friends that are seasoned techs look at it.

First thing I found was right O2 showing lean,- Snapon scanner shows O2 both functioning correctly. Hooked a fuel pressure gauge up and drove, no issues here. Check for fuel volume in a water bottle as well as excessive Ethanol. No issues here. I pulled plugs to look, and they look normal. Because under hard throttle AFR is fine. Can find any leaks that would cause it, all sensors seem to be functional, and just compensating for the issue when it happens.

I went ahead and pulled the Tune out and reloaded it, hoping that would help. No change. I did a datalog last night and mailed it to tuner I have been using. Curious if he will have any advise on it.

At this point, I scared to drive car any real distance. Put 100 miles on it yesterday and had a couple ****ty situations. Car died, and when restarted would be max lean and not run without throttle and just wouldn't recover on its own. Sat for probably 10 mins and finally it restarted with normal AFR and would go again. I have to be very conscience about throttle application. lightly backing off pedal seems to work fairly good, but when your going 70 and come into traffic, not much you can do.

Mine does something similar, but not to the extent yours is doing it. My next thought is replacing the IAC valve. I would have already done it, but they're expensive!! Mine makes noise when you turn the key on and off - there has to be something wrong with it.

IAC wouldn't have anything to do with his issue as it's fuel related.

Greg, datalog TPS, MAP, and MAF, look to see if anything looks squirrely. If o2s are reading correctly the ECM is getting erroneous data from somewhere and going into a weird fuel cell causing the lean condition.

Have you cleaned your air filter lately? Oiled it? Could be dirty MAF. TPS may be reading off in the lower gas pedal areas.. Or if you had an intake backfire it could have ruptured the MAP sensor's diaphragm causing reading issues? Just swinging here, hoping it's something easy...

Its a cheap filter, not oil/cotton.

TPS is new and adjusted, that's what was causing a lot of my transmission issues early this spring. I think IAC was replaced around same time.

I may see if a MAP is on shelf after work tonight and see if that is issue.
