I learned along time ago I wasn't dedicated enough to hand polish anything. Its just to time consuming.
Mothers Powerball combined with their polish is my go to. |

Carlisle Prep
I have been driving every chance I get, getting familiar with the things that need attention or that bug me. Here Im parked @ work amongst some "appliances".
![]() Truck is now "off the road" under going upgrades / repair to get ready for Carlisle Truck Nationals. I'm finally getting around to installing the sway bars that I purchased from @HectorM52. Rear link brackets / bar cannot be installed because my exhaust currently interferes. Maybe next year... ![]() ![]() I went to a local suspension shop and had some U-bolts made. 9/16 X 9 inch. Much better than the 1/2 inch stuff u find online. ![]() Installed my home-made caltrax. NO MORE WHEEL HOP!! ![]() ![]() Oil / filter change is up next. Going to take an oil sample and have it analysed. ![]() Also in the works is rim/tire balancing. One rim was found to be bent, so it's out getting fixed. Then its more polishing. Stay tuned... |

More Carlisle Prep
Completed the oil / filter change. Cut open the oil filter to inspect. Nothing abnormal found. Some crud on the drain plug, and a little in the bottom of the filter can, but Meh.
![]() Quick scuff and paint on the rear rotors. Fronts to come in time. ![]() Carlisle registration came in the mail. WOOT! ![]() Removed the intake plenum to gain better access to oil pressure & fuel pressure ports. ![]() Upgraded from a mechanical oil gauge to electronic. The ECU can now monitor both the fuel & oil pressure and do safety shutdown, timing retard, etc. ![]() ![]() |

PWM Electric Fans
Last year during my trip to carlisle truck nationals my electric fans kept acting up, I was popping fuses and melting wires. After a year of being lazy and not fixing the problem, the hayden fan controller died from all the abuse.
My Holley ECU has PWM outputs that I can set up to control a large array of items. One such item is a PWM controller from a C6 corvette / Ford Fusion / etc. I fould this controller in the junkyard off a Ford Fusion and picked it up for free. Mounted it to the fender close to my radiator & fans. Too bad it's a FoMoCo part and not the ACDelco equivalent. ![]() I saved the connectors from the donor and extended the wiring. ![]() Loomed it up all nice like. ![]() Everything is installed and ready for testing. I even made a table to control the PWM controller. ![]() I plan to test it this weekend. |
