couple updates. i deleted the oil cooler/remote filter mount. im running a filter on the block and still have room to run an adapter between the block and filter for oil cooler lines. so i might make up some braided stainless lines and get the oil cooler back.

i also replaced my steering stabilizer. the old on was completely shot. i could compress it and then the weight of the shock body would make it extend when i held it. i upgraded to a rancho stabilizer. its about double the diameter and much better.

I have the same intake and I used round pipe insulation. I got the stuff with adhesive edges where it's split and used those to stick it to the heat shield on the edges beside and below the intake tube. I don't have anything above the intake tube to seal that area between it and the hood though. I've never checked IAT's so I have no idea if it helped.

my 2003 suffers from the offset rear axle. so according to my measurements i needed a 1" spacer and a 2.25" spacer. a 2.25" spacer thats hubcentric was $$$$ so i stuck with a 2.00" one.

now on to the pictures.

drivers before

pass before

inside shot of a PA3 wheel. the square depressions make it possible to run a spacer as thin as ~3/4"

drivers after

pass after

Interesting way to correct for the "offset"......Although I can't think of another way to address it without cutting/welding of metal.

I ran 2.25" units on my Xtreme for years, but the centerline of the wheel never moved with respect to the centerline of the bearings. Meaning the bearing loads never changed. Any concerns about bearing life with the added spacers? Is the change for aesthetics only?!?

bearings should be fine, lots of people run 2wd offset wheels on the zr2 trucks with no issues.

I like it, looks much better.

I don't know why, but I always feel like the offset issue with bearing load is important up front, but not so much in the rear. I guess it's the distributed load and leverage of the whole axle that makes me feel better about it.

exactly! the fronts are more problematic than the rears.

plus think about it this way. 4x4 and 2wd run the same axle bearings with different wheel offsets.
