Stepside 1982 S10

https://nh.craigslist.org/cto/5956871745.html

1982 Chevy S10 stepside. I'll always had a similar idea to do something like this once I had, free time and unlimited resources, so you know never.

It looks like a resized 70 something stepside bed. My idea was to narrow a first gen bed and scribe the outer wheel wells off of a full size step side then blend in the fist gen wheel arches. The truck looks good though, for what my capabilities are, I probably couldn't have done any better. I find it funny that the ad doesn't even mention the custom bed.

Doh, after I posted this and took a closer look I and realized it isn't what I thought. I'm guessing it is one of those fiberglass stepside beds, still looks pretty good regardless.

I dig it. Except the roll bar to the outside of the bed, Pointless.... the frame isn't even that wide. I guess it might look too narrow otherwise. Still don't care for it.
Rear bumper is kind of "out there" too. Needs something smaller, or at least tighter. Maybe lighter would help.

It looks really awkward, maybe lowering the rear tails?

I think the only type of "stepside" S10 that should exist is the xtreme force concept S10.

There was a guy here awhile back that had a "wildside" truck. ran an LT1 with Sy/Ty AWD setup. I think the bed was from like Choo-Choo customs or some such madness. I always thought that was a sharp looking pickup myself.....for a first gen anyway.

There was a company that sold these beds on S10's. It was actually the same company that made the Luv beds, so it's no surprise that they look similar.
It was the California Step side conversion bed or something along those lines. Very rare.
At $2200 if the truck is in decent shape it's definitely worth looking at. Heck, if the bed is in really good condition, the bed alone might be worth that.
