My swap project got distracted

Purchased a cheap bike from Wally world to replace my 15yr old $100 Wally world bike that blew the main sprocket out.

Its a mongoose 26" 21 speed mountain bike. Its stretched out a little more than my old bike which makes it a lot more comfortable to ride. The old bike is in the background, switched the seats out, the mongoose seat made me feel like I was raped with a bowling pin after a 2 mile ride.

Since purchasing it Thurs night I've put around 20 miles on it riding the trails here. I can't get on it without my daughter wanting to ride her bike with me, so I haven't been able to stretch the legs on this yet. Just doing short bursts messing with my daughter has me smiling. Its not a Armstrong bike, but it's nice. We did a 6 mile ride Sunday and ended up at Applebees for lunch, was a perfect dad/daughter afternoon. I knew after I ate I wouldn't make it home so I called the Calvary to pick my sorry azz up. Should have rode back and suffered instead of listening to the missus ***** about my clutch.

Hoping to get some more miles on it and updating this thread with some good stories.

Glad to see you riding, I know that a few of us on here ride so it is always nice to see someone else doing it too.

Nice! I've got a Mongoose that's real similar myself.

I miss riding it, I have tried to ride a few times this season, but I hear cars that aren't there, and it brings back memories that distract me, and that's bad while riding.

They are talking about expanding our local people trails to closer to my house, I'm hoping that happens. Until then, I should get a bike rack so I can drive to the trails

I've been throwing the bikes in the back of my truck and going to the local trails. Greensboro has really put some money into them and they are really nice. Lake front paths, always shrouded with trees, wide paths, etc.

John I feel for ya man, I completely understand how you feel, gunshy is not a good enough descriptor.

I'm hoping to keep riding, my back is talking, but not bad enough to keep me off the bike for now.

Very cool, I purchased a 29'er from Wally World a few months ago and take it out once in a while.

I know this doesn't compete w/ the road bikers, but went for a 30 min ride @ lunch last week, did 4 miles and toasted my thighs. Went to get in my truck and my legs said, "See ya!" lol, about fell down just trying to get in. The trails around work are full of hills.
